Kenyan Socialite Pesh released from Prison after close to 10 years in jail
Kenyan Socialite Peninah Lema Munyithya popularly known as Pesh has finally got freedom after staying behind bars in Ghanaian Prison for close to 10 years jail time.
Kenyans learned about her release after she changed her profile picture on Facebook and also shared an inspirational quote.
The socialite also uploaded a video of herself dancing on TikTok.
Pesh was last seen on social media on July 2015 when she revealed that she was headed to Ghana for a holiday.
“Thanks to God dreams coming tru.. another holiday for her majesty. #Ghana!,” She wrote on her Facebook account.
At that time of her arrest, she was still a student at Mount Kenya university where she was pursuing a degree in project management.
According to her campus friend Lydia Wairimu, Pesh rose to fame from an incident where her steamy photos in birthday suit were leaked online. Through the online buzz, Pesh met a Nigerian man who promised her a good life.
Lydiah further revealed that the Ghanaian man was using Pesh to traffic drugs from Ghana to Seychelles and on the fateful day, she was arrested at the airport.
According to her revelation, the drug dealer who was using Pesh to traffic drugs had multiple identities making it hard for Ghanaian authorities to trace him.
Socialite Pesh was subjected to the Ghanaian justice system and was found guilty of trafficking drugs and subsequently sentenced to 10 years in prison. She was expected to be released from a Ghanaian prison sometime in 2025 but she was released early
