Popular Kenyan Comedian and TV host Vincent Mwasia, popularly known as Chipukeezy has opened up on his relationship with late socialite Starlet Wahu.
Speaking during an Interview with Iko Nini podcast, Chipukeezy weighed his thoughts into the gruesome murder of the Pastor Kanyari sister. He shared the deep connection he had with Starlet before she met death.
Chipukeezy recounted how Starlet Wahu helped him reach Pastor Kanyari, for an interview in his show. E disclosed that he reached her through her social media account, to thank her for facilitating the interview with her brother.
“The saddest part is that I knew that lady. She introduced me to Kanyari. I remember one time Kanyari trended because of listening to secular music while coming from Machakos as the lady recorded him. I slid in her DM. I am not sure if it was Kanyari I was looking for or her, but I slid in that DM.” Chipukeezy said.
The Tv host shared that news of Starlet Wahu death came as a shock to him. He maintained that despite the circumstance under which she died, she didn’t deserve to die.
“When I saw it, one thing that I said was that it does not matter what she did; nobody deserves to die like that. Our society is taking the wrong direction when it comes to that lifestyle.”
While responding to Chipukeezy, Pastor Kanyari came to the defense of his sister. Speaking to the congregation during church service, Pastor Kanyari maintained that the only mistake Wahu made was trusting a stranger she met on social media.
“My sister got involved with a man she met on social media, thinking he loved her. The man invited her for dinner, claiming to be wealthy,” explained Pastor Kanyari.
He went on to give details on how the killer lured Wahu into going to a club and booking a room for steamy session.
The situation took a tragic turn when the killer began demanding money from Starlet inside the room. Unable to reach her brother, Starlet faced threats and demands for Sh500,000.
The confrontation escalated, resulting in a fatal stabbing in the neck.
“My sister started withdrawing money from her bank, but it seems she started being resistant and they fought inside there,” recounted Pastor Kanyari.
The assailant locked Starlet inside the room, preventing her from seeking help or medical attention, ultimately leading to her untimely demise.
