KCPE Candidate Gives Birth During Exam Time

Even as class 6 and class 8 pupils begin their national examinations on Monday morning, a KCPE candidate has given birth during exam time in Tharaka region, Tharaka County.

The young girl was blessed with the baby in Marimanti hospital which is around the region,few hours before the Mathematics exam began.

While confirming the incident, the region director of Educations Mr Solencio Maringe said the candidate did the exam in the hospital after the delivery.

Far from that, the Education CS Exekiel Machogu while opening exam container in Mombasa affirmed that exam security has been heightened.

There will be no cheating in Exams,” he said.

He added that the ministry has provided helicopters to distribute exams to 493 stations in Kenya.

A total number of 3, 416, 048 students are expected to take part in the three examinations this year.

Among them, 1,287,597 have been registered for KPSEA, 1,244,188 for KCPE and 884,263 for KCSE.

KCSE candidates are expected to sit for their first exam on Friday, 2nd of December and end on 24th December.
