For the first time, Kenyan talented rapper Stephen Adera, popularly known as Stivo Simple Boy, has opened up on his childhood life, a mystery many Kenyans have been longing to unravel.
Stivo shared that growing up, he did not have a smooth life. He said that at one time when he was a child, he was plagued by a sickness until his mother almost gave up on his recovery.
Further, Stivo Simple Boy made a more shocking revelation that left his fans with many questions. The ‘mihadarati‘ hitmaker recounted that at one time he got so sick until he died, but luckily coughed back to life moments later.
“While I was a child, I got so sick until I died. I honestly died. But through God’s grace, he gave me back life. My mum who took to me to hospital had already given up on me and declared that I was dead. I was give medications and injections and they were not working. But through God’s he brought me back to life,” Stivo Simple Boy narrated.

I did not Study beyond class 8
Speaking about his educational journey, Stivo revealed that he did join secondary school because he did not perform well in KCPE.
“I grew up in Oyugis, where I studied up to class seven. Thereafter, I came to Kibera, Nairobi and joined class 8. I did KCPE exam but I did not perform well. My music journey began in Nairobi and then I came to Nairobi to perfect the skills,” explained Stivo.
Responding to Kenyans who body-shame him because of his appearance, Stivo Simple Boy said,” Don’t judge anyone. It’s only God who knows why created Stivo and gave him grace.”

Stivo Simple Boy journey to fame
Stivo Simple Boy shot into limelight in 2020, after his song ‘Mihadarati’ went viral. The song gained huge traction on social media, making him an Internet sensation.
Stivo’s music journey has however has it fair share of challenges. Speaking in past, the musician opened up about being exploited by his management, placing him in a very bad financial situation.
The Singer has now ventured in other businesses to increase his income. Last year, he took advantage of his popular slogan ‘freshi barida’ to start his own clothline and a brand of juice.
