Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has warmed the hearts of many Kenyans after nominating bodaboda rider Tony Marubu into Murang’a County Assembly. The outspoken parliamentarian revealed the nomination of Tony through a Facebook post.
‘Of all the things we have done as UDA fraternity, the nomination of Tony Marubu as an MCA in Murang’a is among the greatest. He is a Boda Boda rider in Kiharu, specifically at Mukuyu (Mugoiri Junction), Kiria and Ndutumi stages. He comes from Ndutumi, Mugoiri Ward in Kiharu,” he wrote.

How Tony Marubu came into limelight
Ndindi Nyoro says he was attracted to Tony’s sharpness. According to him, Tony is a sharp and articulate guy.
“We noticed him around 2 years ago in our usual work activities. He came out as sharp and articulate. Called him to the office and inquired about him,” Ndindi Nyoro said.
Tony Marubu scored C+ in KCSE. The lucky MCA did not manage to join any higher institution of learning. Ndindi Nyoro as pledged to ensure Tony joins a college.
“Called him to the office and inquired about him. He told me he had scored C+ but was unable to proceed to College. We were willing to sponsor him for a Teaching Course but in the course of making it happen, he is now an MCA,” he added.
The move comes amidst public uproar that Political parties have shortchanged candidates listed for nominations.
