Media personality Maina Kageni shocked many when he revealed in an interview in December 2021 that his departure from Classic 105, where he presently works, will spell the end of his career.

The radio host, who owns several properties in the United States, announced plans to start a business there during an appearance on his morning show.

After retiring from radio, Maina stated that he will open a nightclub in Miami. He also stated that he would continue to reside in the mansion he purchased many years prior.

“Come next year I’m done. I’m retiring from this job, and I plan on running a club in Miami. I will be living in my condor. I bought it kitambo. I thought we talked about this and both of us after retiring?” He posed.

In addition, Maina has made real estate investments, owning homes in both the US and the UK.

He not only works as one of Kenya’s top-paid media figures, but he also has a few side businesses, such as emceeing, moderating events, and running commercials.

“The day I will wake up and feel that I am going to work, I will call it a wrap because, for me, I’m always excited with what I’m doing,” he said. Sometimes I even wake up before my alarm. I mean, radio has nourished me for so long,” he said in a past interview.

In a recent interview, Maina causedifdmitted that he shelled out a whopping Ksh 100 million to protect his voice, which is widely perceived as his most precioustravelled
“You have insured your voice?” asked Churchill to enrol Maina responded, “Yes, for 100 million.”

He added that in the event that something happened to his voice, he would receive the compensation.

After graduating from Laiser Hill High School, Maina traveled to the UK to attend college. However, he did not enroll and instead began working as a truck driver and fish distributor for a Chinese company.

When his mother attended his graduation, she was disappointed to learn that her son’s name was not on the list of graduates. She advised him not to return to Nairobi.

For Maina, it’s a good thing that everything worked out well because he now enjoys a luxurious lifestyle, drives swanky automobiles, and socializes with celebrities.
