“Wewe unifikii,” Akothee fires at Jaguar

Kenyan musician-cum- businesswoman Esther Akoth popularly known as Akothee has fired back at Charles Njagua Kanyi alias Jaguar for claiming that he is richer to han her.

Jaguar was placed among the top 10 richest artists in East Africa by Forbes in 2023. He came at number 7 with a net worth of $7 million. In Kenya, he was the second richest artist after Akothee whose net worth was said to be $7.6 million. Akothee was number 4 in East Africa.

The former Lang’ata lawmaker was however not contented with the reports. He maintained that he is richer than Akothee. While speaking in a recent interview, he threatened to quit his CAS position if Akothee and Harmonize were indeed richer than her.

If you look at the list I have been in the industry for more than 15 years. But I swear if Akothee and Harmonize are wealthier than me, I can quit music. They pick things they see like Range Rovers. I have done a lot of things, I am not bragging but if they go into details, I can even resign from being a CAS,” he said.

In her response, Akothee told off Jaguar for comparing himself with men. She wondored why a man would compete with a man. According to her, most celebrities get into politics to make money and remain relevant.

ATI nani amesema he is Richer than madam boss? Since when did men start competing and comparing themselves with women. Most celebs/ musicians run into politics to make money and remain in power.

Akothee warned Jaguar against claiming he is rich yet the business flights they board are paid by the government. She added that most politicians don’t use their money for charity and the fundraisers they do online is for PR.

You are disrespecting women. All this charity you people do online is for PR. Always waiting for something trending to hop on so you can hit headlines because the rest of the days you are irrelevant. Why haven’t you taken 5 children under your arms and taken them to school. Hiring a chopper for an hour is Ksh 200k. That is school fees for four years.
