7 people to be questioned by DCI over Jeff Mwathi Murder

A week after detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) took over and began fresh probe into the mysterious death of Geoffrey Mwathi, significant progress on the case has been made.

Homicide detectives handling the case have revealed that the 23-year old upcoming interior designer was murdered and did not jump to his death as earlier alleged.

Detectives from DCI further revealed that their investigations, after the scene reconstruction and forensic analysis points to a clear sign of struggle inside Mugithi singer Lawrence Njuguna better known as DJ Fatxo’s house. The detectives insisted this pointing out that there was a possibility of a fight, before Mwathi was dragged out and thrown from the rooftop or from the stairs of the 12-storey building.

The investigators in ruling out suicide, believe that Mwathi was murdered before he was thrown off to cover up and make it appear like suicide.

According to statement recorded at Kasarani Police Station, Jeff Mwathi jumped off through a window of the bedroom. This has however been ruled out considering that it is impossible for an adult to fight into the tight frames of the window.
