Willis Raburu, born Willis Kwenda Raburu on April 1, 1987, is a Kenyan television presenter, journalist, and media personality. As of 2023, He is 36 years old. He gained popularity for his work as a news anchor and host on Citizen TV, one of Kenya’s leading television networks.

Raburu was born and raised in Bomet County, Kenya. Is the son of the famous provincial commissioner Peter Raburu, who is currently a pastor in Kisumu. He attended Moi University, where he pursued a degree in Information Sciences. During his university years, he actively participated in campus events, including hosting various shows and serving as the chairman of the university’s Christian Union.

While speaking in an an Interview, Willis Raburu revealed that his father wanted him to pursue an IT course while he wanted to stody media related course. He had to lie to his father that he was studying an IT course until during his graduation in 2010.

Career

After completing his studies, Raburu began his media career as a radio presenter at Homeboyz Radio, where he hosted the popular show “Rush Hour” alongside DJ Moz. His talent and charisma quickly caught the attention of television producers, and in 2010, he joined the Royal Media Services-owned Citizen TV.

At Citizen TV, Raburu initially worked as a reporter and news anchor before transitioning into hosting entertainment and lifestyle shows. He hosted various programs, including “10 Over 10,” a popular Friday night entertainment show, and “The Trend,” a talk show that focused on current trends in Kenya’s entertainment industry.

Raburu’s energetic and engaging hosting style, combined with his ability to connect with the audience, made him a beloved figure in Kenya’s media landscape. He also became known for his fashion sense and signature catchphrases, which endeared him to viewers.

In August 2023, Willis Raburu closed chapters with Citizen Tv after 13 years of service, and joined Tv 47 where he hosted Webebe Experience show.
