According to the salary explorer, Law is the third most paying career in Kenya, with doctors and judges topping in the list.Some lawyers in Kenya who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in law are now at par with wealthiest persons in Kenya. They earn huge legal fee through representing government, government officials, parastatals, companies etc.
Although lawyers perform a similar task of representing a client in the court, they charge legal fees according to their specialities. Some charges bigger amounts than others.

Donald Kipkorir hails from Cheptongei, Elgeyo Marakwet County. The 55 year old legal mind (as at 2023) once narrated how he grew up in a poverty-stricken background.
Immediately after O-levels, he joined The University of Nairobi (UON), where he pursued bachelor of law degree. He also went ahead and attained a post-graduate diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law. Donald Kipkorir was admitted as an advocate in 1992. After graduating, he briefly worked at Wetang’ula & Company Advocates before launching his law firm -KTK Advocates, four years later.
In July 2022, Lawyer Donald made headlines after it emerged that he was paid KSh 1.3 billion in legal fees for representing the Nairobi county government against the Ministry of Defence in a land dispute case. The fee was one of the highest in the country’s litigation history of Kenya.

After highschool, he went to University of London where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in law.He also have a post-graduate diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law.
Paul Muite was admitted as a High Court judge in 1970. He then founded Waruhiu and Muite Advocates before the former went his separate way.
The 78-year old lawyer has handled many many high-profile cases both locally and internationally. According to Bizna Kenya he earns close to Ksh.20 millions every month.He also served as Kikuyu member of Parliament from 1992 to 2007.
Fred Ngatia
Fred Ngatia is also one of the most sought after lawyers in Kenya, with over 40 years in the legal industry. In 2021 he unsuccessfully pursued the Chief Justice position.
After highschool, Ngatia joined University of Nairobi for a Bachelor’s of Law degree. He then joined Kenya school of law for a post-diploma in law.His career is decorated with success in court cases.
He rose to popularity when he represented the former vice President George Saitoti against the Goldenberg scandal.He also represented former president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013 and 2017 during the Presidential Election petitions.

James Orengo
James Orengo is a lawyer, a businessman and a seasoned politician. He was very instrumental during the struggle for second liberation and fight for Multi-party democracy during KANU era, and former president Daniel Moi’s regime.
James Orengo hails from Ugenya in Siaya County, where he was born in 1951. He completed his secondary school studies in 1970 at Alliance Highschool.
In 1971, he joined The University of Nairobi where he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in law and later attained a law diploma from The Kenya School of Law. His leadership began in the university where he was elected as the student union’s president.
The current governor of Siaya is well known and respected for his extraordinary brilliance in law, which has earned him the name ‘Walking Constitution‘. He has on several occasions featured in high-profile cases that are of national interest. The most recent was in 2022 when he represented Raila in challenge President William Ruto’s Presidential win.

He then proceed to Cornell University, United states and graduated with Masters degree in law after two years.

Ahmednasir Abdullahi is the chairman of Al-Nur media group, which publishes the Nairobi law and the Nairobi business monthly. He also owns RTN Tv, which is one of the first somali Tv stations in Kenya.
At one time, he took Kenya National Highway Authority (KENHA) to court after a stone on uncompleted road damaged his car’s windscreen.The senior counsel was driving his luxurious SUV, Bentley Bentayga, which costs not less than Ksh. 40 million. He won the case and he was compensated Ksh. 750, 000 for the damages.
Lawyer Danstan Omari
Danstan Omari hails from Nyamira County. He is indisputably one the most sought-after lawyers in Kenya, having represented many prominent personalities.
He made history in 2019 after becoming the first lawyer to conduct a divorce case live on TV pitting Aldai MP Marianne Kitany and Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi.
