Many times were are told Education is the Key and it is one of motivations that makes learners from poor background work so hard. Pius Thuranira is one of those learners who studied well in primary school with hope of joining a good secondary school. The bright boy is however yet to join highschool despite having outstanding performance in 2022 KCPE.
Thuranira hails from Aithû, Riaki village, Igembe South, Meru County. He schooled in Amwamba Public Primary school and managed a sterling performance by scoring 368 marks in last year’s KCPE results.
Thuranira is however yet to join form one. Despite being invited to join one of the best Extra-County schools in Kenya, lack of school fees has forced him to stay at home, 3 weeks after form ones were admitted to various schools un Kenya.

While speaking to a close neighbor identified as Linet, she revealed that the boy comes from a very poor background.His older brother was forced to drop out of form 3 due to lack of fees.
“He (boy) is born in a family of five children. The first born is in college but he is always in and out due to lack of fees. The second born dropped out form 3 last because the parents could not manage to pay school fees,” Linet told Public News.
According to Linet, the father of the kid disappeared into the thin air leaving the mother with the burden of raising the five kids. The mother depends on casual jobs to feed the family.
“She has no job. Most of the time huwa anaenda kutafuta vibarua za kuchuna majani chai. What she gets is not enough to feed her family and pay school fees.”
The neighbor has now pleaded with government to move fast and help the bright boy join form one.
“We are humbly requesting leaders starting from the local MCA and MP john Paul Mwirigi to do something.”
