Kenyan rapper Stephen Otieno Adera, popularly known as Stivo Simple Boy, seems to have developed a tough skin against social media trolls. Unlike before, the controversial singer has mastered the art of fighting for his space in the entertainment industry.
Recently, the Mihadarati hitmaker sparked mixed reactions after he compared himself to big shots in the industry. The singer came out to claim that he is the Diamond Platnumz of Kenya. He mantained that he is the best and most influential Kenyan artist, despite reaping little from his efforts.
“Mimi ndio msanii Bora zaidi inchini Kenya. Huwezi nicompare ni mtu yeyote. Mimi ndio Diamond Wa Kenya,” he said.
The singer went ahead to say to say that the only difference between him and the Tanzanian bongo-star is the style of singing, and fortune.
“Simba anampenda nyimbo za mahaba lakini Mimi naimba nyimbo za kueducate the society. Halafu yeye Ako na pesa nyingi. Lakini ki muziki, Mimi naongoza Kenya.“
While reacting to Stivo Simple Boy’s stunts, Kenyans expressed mixed reactions. While a section lauded him for having confidence in himself, some accused him of disrespecting veteran Kenyan artists.
@Tim-Oh: Confidence muhimu but hapo kwa diamond umechoma 😅”
@Nicah King: “Eti Diamond…spare my ribs 🤣🤣. Respect the OG”
@Eduh: “Pesa kindogo umeanza kujicompare na wasanii..come slow.”
@Carol Msoh: “Chunga Khaligraph Jones hasikuskie.”
@Sharon Amollo: “Shieet. Who is Stivo .”
Stivo Simple Boy Not Wavered
Despite the fierce criticism from Netizens, Stivo has held onto his claims. While responding to critics, he maintained that he is the best Kenyan artist, and that he can only compare himself to Diamond Platnumz.
“Nimeskia watu walisema eti Sina Talent. Mbona wao si wasanii..Mimi ndio kusema Kenya.“
