In 2020 and 2021, the media house was accused of not paying up its staff journalists. This made many anchors, reporters, and producers to publicly quit the station. John Marete (Weru TV) John Marete is the face behind popular vernacular news channel Weru Tv. He was formerly working as the head of camera at Citizen Tv. Marete launched Weru Tv in 2016 after he lost his job at Citizen Tv. He later launched Weu FM to counter RMS -owned Muuga FM. Weru Tv has ever since grown to be the leading news channel in both Meru and Tharaka Nithi County. Rodgers Kipempe Mpuru (Meru Tv) Rodgers Kipempe Mpuru is the son of Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi. Young as he is, Kipempe isj a business mogul and the Secretary-General of NOPEU political party. Rodgers is the owner of MERU TV, one of the top vernacular stations in the country. He also owns Thiiri FM- an upcoming radio station.The two stations broadcasts in Kimeru language. Kipempe came into limelight after media uncovered his vast wealth. The politician's son is rumoured to have over 18 expensive cars. Additionally, Kipempe has interests in the banking sector owning microfinance that targets and empowers business people and farmers through loans and agribusiness projects. Chepkwony Joshua He is the owner of Kass TV . The Tv channel operates under Joshua Chepkowny’s Kass Media Group, which transmits in the Kalenjin language. While speaking in an interview, Chepkwony Jushua revealed the idea of setting up Kass TV came up through requests by the fans of Kass FM. Musila ,53, and Guardian Angel ,33, tied knot after dating for three years. Even as they continue enjoying their marriage, a section of netizens has pressured they to have a baby. Robinson who studied in Christ The King Academy in Bungoma emerged the top candidate in the national exam after he scored 431 marks out of a possible 500. The bright boy was among thousands of learners who were admitted to form one across the country. He was invited to Kenya High national school. His photos alighting the plane went viral, with Kenyans wondering how deep the pockets of his parents/guardian are. Details have however emerged that the plane ticket was as a reward for his excellent performance. According to a DAP-K party, the boy was accorded this kingly treatment by his area Bumula MP Wanami Wamboka, who was impressed by his outstanding results. He walks with no cash and has one pair of shoes despite being one of the richest men in Kenya. Earlier on during an interview with Business Daily, the 58-year old business mogul estimated to be worth over 50 billion shillings said he has no debit or credit cards. He also disclosed that he does not have a wallet and walks around with his car keys only. According to him, he can easily business empire without any starting capital. “I don’t carry cash or cards. I only have my car key…If you took me now, with nothing on me, no cash, no phone and you dropped me in an arid land in Ethiopia or Somalia, I will build another Devki dynasty without taking a penny from anywhere or knowing anybody,” he said. Raval further added that he does not have an Mpesa account and that he does not know his worth since he does not count his money. “I don’t know. The day you start counting your money that is the end,” he said while responding to a question on the amount of money he has. While defending his decision of not counting his money, Raval said that his philanthropic works gives him satisfaction. “Because my money is not what I have in the bank. My money is the 6,500 people who work for me. My money is the oxygen that patients in hospitals are now breathing because we donated…That is my wealth, not when I spend on myself or my company or my family.” The business mogul owns 3 helicopters,a simple mobile phone and drives a Mercedes Benz. He has four suits and six ties in his closet. He argued that the situation would have been different if it was not for his wife who believes a man should have more than one suit and ties.
