Willy Paul Music Journey

Willy Paul shot to fame in 2010 when his hit ‘rabuka’ swept the gospel music industry by storm. He then co-authored ‘sitolia’ with a Gloria Muliro.

Pozee as he commonly refers to himself remained among the Kenya’s top gospel artist until 2021 when he migrated to secular songs.

In his defense, Pozee argued that he no longer wanted to be a hypocrite. According to him, he became depressed after fellow artists and DJs discriminated, denied him airplay arguing that his songs were no gospel enough.

One of the reasons why I left gospel music was because of frustration and hate from my fellow artist and DJs. They denied me airplay eti my songs are not good enough,” he said.

Ever since, Willy Paul music career has been full of wins and losses. Earlier this year, Bahati’s wife Diana Marua accused him of an attempted rape.

Although many dismissed the allegations as clout chase stunts, the singer revealed that the accusations had ‘eaten’ away many of his business deals.
