How government is planning to recover lost school days

Fresh details have emerged on how the government through the ministry of Education plans to recover time lost following the indefinite postponement of schools.

As the holiday extends into the second week the since its postponement, the Ministry of Education is planning to adjust the school calendar for second term and third term to accommodate the lost days.

According to information shared by Nation Media in May 6, the second term and the third term will be extended. The August holiday which was slated to run for the weeks may be shortened to help in the recovery of the lost time.

Further, part of the scheduled December holiday may be used as part of third term.

While quoting the Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, the news paper however disclosed that the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) will not be impacted.

Last week, President William Ruto announced further postponement of schools following heavy rains that has caused havoc in the country, making transport in many parts of the country a nightmare.
