Fred Obachi Machoka is a Kenyan radio presenter, journalist, and media personality born on August 19, 1971, in Kisii County, Kenya. He is popularly known for his work with Radio Citizen, where he has been a presenter for over two decades.
Machoka attended Mweiga Primary School and later joined Nyeri High School for his secondary education. He then studied at the University of Nairobi, where he pursued a degree in Journalism and Communication.
Obachi Machoka Career
After graduation, Machoka started working for Radio Queen as a news reader before moving to Radio Citizen, where he has been working for over 20 years. He has hosted various popular shows such as Mambo Mseto, Mambo Mseto Sundowner, and Jambo Kenya, among others.
Machoka has also worked as a news anchor and reporter for Citizen TV and several other media outlets. In 2014, he won the Best Radio Presenter award in the Nzumari Media Awards, and in 2015, he was named the Best Radio Presenter in the Mwafaka Awards.
Apart from media, Machoka is also involved in community initiatives and charities. He runs the Obachi Machoka Foundation, which helps disadvantaged children in Kisii County to access education.
Machoka is married to his wife, Liz, and the couple has three children.
