Mumias East MP Peter SALASYA has come out to fiercely defend police constable James Mukhwana. Mukhwana who is based at Central Police Station in Nairobi was apprehended by authorities after investigations linked him to the brutal murder of blogger Albert Ojwang.
In a statement he published on his social media account, SALASYA defended James Mukhwana as a very humble officer. He recounted when he was detained at Central police station, noting that Mukhwana was very friendly and professional.
“PC Mukhwana you are my brother from Málaga. You kept me so well at Nairobi Central police station for three days and introduced me to your colleague PC Kimani,” he wrote.
In his statement, SALASYA pleaded with the police constable to surprise the court with the truth.
“Now that you were on duty on that fateful Day of the death of bold spirit of Albert, my brother do no allow to be sacrificial lamb to anyone. We are in a country led by rule of law. I am expecting you to tell court the truth.”
Further, SALASYA asked the investigating authority to move with speed and arrest the perpetrators of the heinous act.
“I also want to ask IPOA to arrest those who arrested Albert.I am proposing junior officers to have their own independent union because their seniors are taking advantage of them.”
