Senator Boni Khalwale saves life of a lecturer after performing a surgery
Boni Khalwale saved the life of Sebastian Lidigu after machete wielding son attacked him
On Saturday 24th, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale had an opportunity to practice his career as a medical doctor at Mukumu Hospital ward.
According to a statement he published on his socials, Khalwale was attending to Kisumu polytechnic lecturer Sebastian Lidigu, who was attacked by his machete wielding son.
The vocal lawmaker revealed that he got a call from the hospital requesting him to do the special surgery.
Luckily, Boni Khalwale arrived in good time and saved the lecturer’s life after a 2 hours 10 minutes operation.
“Kisumu Polytechnic lecturer Sebastian Lidigu was this morning grievously injured after his machete welding son attacked him. Am glad to have saved his life after a grueling 2hrs 10 min operation at Mukumu Hospital,” he wrote.
Judging from the photos that the senator shared on social media, Lidigu sustained several cuts on his head and arm. The cause of attack by his son has not yet been established.
Boni Khalwale medical career
After secondary education, Boni Khalwale joined The University Of Nairobi (UON) in 1980. He graduated 7 y
He has worked as medical doctor in several hospital including Kenyatta hospital and hospitals kakamega, kisii, msambweni and Kirinyaga.
While speaking in a previous interview, Khalwale noted that his first hands-on experience in management was between 1988-90 in the then Kakamega District (currently Kakamega county) where he boasts of ensuring that all hospitals, health centres and dispensaries were optimally operational with adequate staff, constant supply of medicine and vaccines.

He later moved into private practice in Mombasa and Kakamega towns from where he rose to join national politics.
