Anxiety over school opening date
Parents and learners seek to know whether there is a change in the school opening date
Parents and learners have taken their anxiety to social media over the school opening date.
The anxious parents have demanded that Education CS Magoha clear the air on when the learners should report back to schools.
“George Magoha should come out and be clear on when learners will report will report back,” posted one.
In the earlier directive made on Tuesday, 2nd August 2022, CS Magoha instructed all basic education institutions to close.
“As you are all aware, Kenya is scheduled to conduct its national elections on Tuesday 9th August. Therefore, following further consultations, I hereby convey the government’s decision to closure all basic education institutions with effect from Tuesday, 2nd August 2022 until Wednesday, 10th August 2022 to ensure that the preparation and the conduct of the upcoming elections are carried out seamlessly,” read the letter.
During the later changed the schools opening date to 18th August.
Parents and learners now want the non-nonsense CS to confirm whether his directive stands considering the prevailing political temperature.
