Kenyan comedian and influencer YY narrated how he met his wife, Marya Okoth.
Speaking during an Interview, YY shared that he persuaded her to move in to his house on the first day they met
“It happened at Arte Cafe Garden City. We had a long sweet conversation and I said, you know what? I am trying to settle, ukae ukijua mimi sitaki kua rafiki yako. Niko serious. I want to settle with someone like you.” YY said.
YY went on to say that Marya got abit worried after receiving the news. She requested for a one year to weigh her options. Surprisingly, it didn’t take long before she accepted to be YY’s wife.

Marya Okoth is not just YY’s wife. She is also a talented actress. She rose into limelight after she featured in “Nurse Toto” series, in which her unique acting skills propelled her to fame.
According to YY, Marya’s humility, creativity and caring nature made him fall in love with her on the first Day.
“It was during the mask Era. At the Garden City she wore my mask. I had an Extra mask that I had already worn mpaka imekatika Kamba. alichukua akaifunga kamba akavaa nikajua ni huyu hii kujituma hii,” Yy narrated.
On her side, Marya praised YY, saying that he has a way of getting what he wants
“He is very creative. If he wants something, he’ll get it. Si mumeskia hata story zake. Na ndivyo ilivyokuwa nilipofika kwake.Hivyo ndio saa sita ilifika, kisha nikalala kwake. Kuamka kesho yake, mpaka saa hii. Sijui jinsi alivyokuwa mcheshi au kuvutia kwa sababu sielewi jinsi ilivyokuwa.” Marya said.
