Veteran politician Charles Njonjo and the first Artoney General has been given a decent send off hours
after death.
The death of Njonjo who was born in 1920 was announced on Sunday morning of 2nd January.
The body of Njonjo was escorted by around 25 family members to Kariokor Crematorium after a short
prayer. His body arrived at Kariokor at 9:20 am where it was cremated. The event was only attended by
close family members with public being locked.
President Uhuru Kenyatta led the nation in mourning the politician. In his message of condolences,
Kenyatta has termed Njonjo as a true dedicated servant of the people.
Several other leaders including Deputy president William Ruto have also praised the late Charlse Chonjo
as a politician who was devoted to serving people.
